‌during upgrade from version 11.2sr2 to 12.10sr8 I have selected the option uninstall and install as it version upgrade. Hope this is correct.     I tried the URL https://localhost but get error as ”page cannot be displayed“.    What do u mean by custom settings will be gone duting upgrade. How do we restore it back and is there any way to preserve custom settings in iis during upgrade??

Hi,

What happens when you try http://localhost? This has to be ran on the machine that is running IIS.

‌hi bill, I think I got the issue.. I checheked the server event logs, every time I tried to access accesspoint there is an error code with “http event 15021” and “schannel 36870” and this issue persist from the time qlikview server is upgraded, then I checked this errors, it’s mainly due to incorrect certificates. When I checked the certificates using “certuntil-store my” all the certificates are failed. Certificat names are like “qvproxy”, “qlikviewca” etc. i am trying to regenarate it but not able to do it.   Please provide your suggestions...

Hi Bill,

I followed your suggestion and was able to get the https://localhost/qlikview page in the server.

1. First issue was IIS services was stopped. after fixing this issue by liasing with IT team i got the https://localhost/qlikview in the server where Qlikview & IIS is running.

2. The SSL certificates were corrupted, so replaced the certificates and the Accesspoint was working fine.

Hi Bill,

As you have mentioned "When you do an upgrade, the virtual folders in IIS are removed and reinstalled. This means any custom settings you have is gone."

i just wanted to know how to handle this situation when we upgrade in the production ??

So everytime we upgrade, do we need to reapply the certificates used and reconfigure the settings in IIS??

Could you please suggest me on this please..
