Load Balancing not working

Hi Techies,

I have created one custom property @StreamUser  with stream resource type then I have applied the custom property to one stream and published one app to it.

Now I have two Proxy nodes(Proxy and Engine services)

Then I created one load balancing rule which says Stream which has @StreamUser custom property will SYNC to Both Proxy nodes

Now when I am audit the Apps SYNC then it shows:

3.png

But when I am opening the application on HUB, it is showing me CENTRAL NODE name instead any of proxy nodes.

I have used computername() function to check the name of apps.

Please help me to understand why my load balancing rule is not working.

Best,

Rohit

Hi Rohit,

You will probably have better luck if you post this in the appropriate group - this is the NPrinting Discussion group

HTH - Daniel.

Hi Daniel,

My concern related to N printing too. I am facing problem when I make connection of N printing with Proxy node. Please help me to figure it out, why N printing is performing faster with central node than proxy nodes when I have sync my apps to proxy nodes with load balancing rules.

Or refer to this ticket to a right person as in other group no one is replying on it.

Best,

Rohit

Hi,

there are no reasons for Qlik NPrinting to perform differently when connected to a proxy instead of the central node. I suppose that when you are connected to the central node Sense will drive the workload to the best performing node and when you are connected to a specific node if it is overloaded you suffer performance degrade and there are not auto load balancing.

As default connections to Sense are on the central node and when the connection is open the central node will automatically decide what proxy to use based on the workload. So, in my opinion, use this because it is the best one.

I would to suggest also to check the Sense proxies without NPrinting in oder to understand if their performances are the same for all.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Ruggero

Can you please add your inputs on below points:

1. We do have persistence layer on central node and make one proxy node out of two as fail over candidate but I understand if my central node will go down the fail over candidate won't access anything from my persistence layer(Central). While we are configuring, we were thinking to make a separate persistence layer(where no Qlik service runs) but we had a doubt what if my persistence layer or server where my apps and repository database get down, what is the backup of persistence layer?

2. We are primarily using Qlik sense to feed data to N printing, our load balancing is working fine, if we run a task which has 5 reports, so it could generate the report on central node or any of the proxy nodes under one task execution. N Printing reports generation switch here and there between central to proxy nodes on N printing task execution. I believe this is what load balancing is ? If Yes, please tell me how can I stop report generation via N printing on Central node or I can notice that RAM and CPU utilization always more than proxy nodes ?

3. When RAM consumption goes to 100%, my N printing task start distributing blank mails without reports and after some time task get failed.

Please add your inputs on above three points., I really thanks for your time.

Thanks

Rohit

Hi Rohit,

Can I ask you a question here ?

What is the infrastructure you are using for your multi node architecture ?

are you using cloud based infrastructure ?
