Nprinting 17.6 November 2017 - Connection Issue with Qlikview Doc

Hi All,

We Setup NPrinting 17.6 November 2017 on our server, when creating a connection and Run Verification it give us below error :

Snapshot :

We already check below point :

  • NPrinting service account has to be different than Qlik service account.
  • NPrinting service account has to be local administrator on QlikView server and for Server connection it also belong to QlikView administrator group on Qlik server.
  • Needs to have UserCal license assigned if used with QlikVIew.
  • Needs to be able to localy open an instance of QlikVIew document and save it - double check it!
  • Needs to have an access to qvw files
  • QlikView server and QlikView desktop versions should be the same

Note : This setup is on AWS EC2.

Please HELP !!

mto‌ Micheal Please look into it.

Thanks,

Osama Anwar

Hi Osama - thanks for tagging me - in this regard I am not all too familiar with NPrinting - I was able to install and set this up on my server (I simply upgraded the engine / server) - however I also used it against Qlik Sense as I don't have QlikView setup - I did not have an issue - the best thing to do would be to check out the log files and open a case with your designated support - however I do see others in the community have engaged with you as well - I will be notified when responses are made - if this becomes a broader issue - we can escalate to the NPrinting team.

The logs are located here: C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\Logs

Once we see what's in the logs - we may have a better idea.

Hi Osama,

I would troubleshoot starting with these steps (without involving NPrinting initially):

* Login to the machine running the NPrinting Engine as the account used to run the NPrinting Services

* Open QlikView Desktop. Is it licensed or showing Personal Edition?

(Alternatively you can browse to Qv.exe > shift+RMB > click "Run as different user" and enter the credentials of the account running the NPrinting Engine service).

* Attempt to open the QlikView document using the path you have in the NPrinting connection (\\A?????\localqvw\) and selecting the qvw file. Possible? Does the title bar of QlikView Desktop show the exact path and filename used in the connection?

If you post screenshots of the results of the above steps, we may be able to get some clues.

Hi Osama,

Difficult to verify that all steps were followed but I take your word for it . Things look different from your original screenshot though. Do you really have a folder called c? It looks to me like there is no instance of QlikView Desktop on the NPrinting Engine machine - verification stops after indicating that one or more connection requirements are not met.  NPrinting February 2018 vverification process has changed a bit and would have checked for QlikView Desktop. In any case, if you have in fact followed all the steps and still can't get it to work I suggest you open a support case so an engineer can verify that all requirements are met.

HTH - Daniel.
