Saving app to DropBox

If I have created an app on QlikSense desktop, how do I save this to say DropBox in order to open this on another machine?

You can't. The Dropbox connector is there to allow you to load data into your app from your Dropbox account as a source not for sharing of apps remotely. You would need to publish the app to server or cloud version to use it that way.
