I haven't tried this, but you should be able to do this with standard CSS like background-image.

Where do you want to add it??

Custom page?? Top style a custom page you do not need themes. Themes are to style visualizations and to some extent sheets etc.

I haven't tried this, but setting background-image for CSS class qvt-sheet might work.

That's probably a color property in the json file.
