v10 SR3 upgrade has caused some form of caching on documents for users

Hi All,

We've recently upgraded out live server from v9 SR2 to v10 SR3.

We've come across a couple of cases where users accessing a particular document are being directed to a different default sheet compared to other users.  When we login with these accounts, we too see that we land on a specific sheet rather than the default sheet.  It appears this is somehow cached for these users on the server but we don't know how this has happened and how we remove this.  Can anyone shed any light on this for us?

Regards,

Bally

Hello Bally,

Yes, that's the default behavior in version 10. It's called "Session recovery" and you can configure it in the QEMC, System, Setup, QlikView Server expand and click on yours, Documents tab, check "Prohibit session recovery". What this feature does, basically, is create a bookmark for each user, so if the session is lost, or the document closed in the client, the user always get back to the latest state of the document (sheet, selections, etc).

Hope that helps.

Thanks Miguel - This has resolved the issue.  It seems like quite a useful feature to have so I'm wondering if we can keep Session Recovery enabled and simply remove the bookmark for users having problems.  Do you know where it stores this bookmark information and how I can remove it?

Hi Bally,

To remove one specific bookmark go to the QEMC, Documents, browse to the document, and on the right part, click on Server Objects. You will see there all the bookmarks, one for each user that has accessed the document. You have there the possiblity to remove a bookmark.

Hope that helps.
