have you created the application on the licensed qv, then it can't be open on personal edition. If you have created the application on personal edition then qlikview can open only limited file. buy licensed key and then open it on licensed edition.

Thanks Vijit,

The original file has created by myself and the error message is saying my PE has exceeded the number of document recoveries. And if i have to buy a license is there a licence key available for PE.

Hi,

Personal Edition allows you to create as many documents as you want. But each time you share it (say, you give it to another person that opens it and gives it back to you, or you open it in a different computer than yours) you spend one of the 4 possible license changes that QlikView allows.

You now need a license to get it working and open your documents. Contact a QlikTech sales rep in order to get a license. There are indeed stand alone licenses (as opposed to server leased licenses).

Hope that helps.

Hii....

The Qlikview personal edition is generally used for the personal application and that is why we can access it on the our local machine only.

For acessing the application in othe machine we have to get the license version of qlikview which you can get from qlikview site or some salesperson

I am having a similar issue. I was using v9.xxxx and was working on my laptop between work and home, when i got the same message. After a bit of looking around on the forums i decided to install the latest version (11) and try to recreate the document. After entering an invalid load script QlikView askes if you would like to load with old data and then brings up tha same message saying that you have exceeded the number of document recoveries and need to buy full licence. I cannot create any documents to use because as soon as i get an error the document becomes un usable.

Please Help

Hi Alan,

First, please create a new thread will your issue. QlikView stores the number of license change (be careful! Personal Edition in your work computer to your personal computer uses one change, the other way back uses the second change, and so).

Second, if you have used all four license change, you need to contact your QlikView partner or sales rep so he can sell you a license, or talk to your client so you can connect to their server and lease a license. Otherwise, you will not be able to either open already created documents nor create new documents.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

What i have find out and believe to be is the personal edition is actually attached to the NIC of the PC or laptop every time if yow switched between your WIFI to LAN I (in my case USB thru Iphone tethering) it recognize as different version of the document is being used.

and after 4 attempts the license got expired. i have not tried re-installing it.

Thanks

Hi,

I can say about the issue is that, whenever you switch between different networks.. from work or from home, your QV application detects a new IP address and consider it as one attemp to change the file. Hence you can use this file with the system or personal computer having the same/static IPs that do not change whenever you login.

You must be connected to wifi/dynamic IPs which is the main reason for this expiry message. Hope this piece of information is of some help.

Thanks!
