Hi guys,
What should we do if the server stopped working?
Would QV servers clustering help?
and anybody knows the instructions of doing that?
Thank,
Hi,
To create a cluster of QlikView Servers you need an additional license, one for each node of the cluster. But the main issue is to find out why the server is stopping: is the lack of memory, is that some other software is causing the crash...? Server clustering may help in the sense that some information is replicated in several nodes, so it can give you some redundancy, but prior to thinking of a new license I'd rather check where the problem is, if that is a bug, known issue or something.
Hope that helps.
Miguel
Hi Miguel,
the server is running fine but I am worried if something happen later on.
I just want to be on the safe side
specially, that all the excutives use QV on every hour.
do you have any other ideas beside clustering that could help on keeping everything running?
Thxs
Hi,
As any other critical service in your network (being QlikView in my opinion one of the less critical) improving redundancy, having a brother server (same hardware, same software) ready to use as a disaster recovery... As far as QlikView is concerned is little more what you can do, other than improving hardware, RAM, CPU, disk if needed and so.
Hope that helps.
Miguel
