Client machine Tools menu access to Server Managment Console

Hi

I have the option to view the server management console under Tools in my Qlikview dev installation on my client machine, the problem is it doesn't have any data in it?

I am an administrator registered on the Server in management console, why can't my client machine see the management console info?

Thanks

Hi,

What version are you on?

In 8.5, the Server Management Console was a .hta application that interacted with the local server only. If you have it installed on your PC then it will be trying to talk to QVS on your PC, not on any other server. If you are trying to admin a server on your own laptop, then you need to be a member ot the QlikView Administrators group on your own laptop, the server group is not relevant.

Regards,

Stephen

We're using 8.5.

The Qvs reference says:

You can also open the QVS Management Console in either a standard web browser
or in a local QlikView. If you open the QVS Management Console through the web
or QlikView, you will not have access to the Install and Graph pages.
Prior to utilizing the functions in the QlikView Server Management Console, you
must register as an authorized user in the QlikView Administrators group. You can
do this either through the program shortcut or through the web dialog at the default
address:
http://<server>/qvsmanagement/Default.htm

This suggests it's possible, but I get the console but no info - everthing's empty. Any idea's?

Thanks
