Hi,
If we want to move from NTFS (Windows based) authentication to DMS (Qlikview based) authentication, will we need a Publisher license (assuming we don't have one earlier)?
My understanding of Publisher is that it is used to schedule document reloads and publish them. But in one of the reference documents, it is stated that once we move to DMS, Publisher will take care of the authentication through the .meta files. In that case, we would need a Publisher license. Is this how it works?
Thanks in advance,
Venkatesh
You don't need Publisher to use DMS. You do need the Enterprise or Extranet versions of QlikView Server. Small business edition won't do it.
If you choose to use Publisher, it can use the DMS authorization that you've defined on QlikView Server.

... (adding to) - once you get a license the qlikview license server syncs in real-time just by opening a document in the server.
