QV10 - Interactive sort does not appear to be working consistently

Was curious if anyone else has experienced this issue. In QV 8.5, we were able to double-click on column headers for all chart expressions and have it toggle the sort between ascending and descending. In QV 10, however, double-clicking some column headers only sorts the expression values one way and will not allow toggling. In the chart properties, all of these columns are set to "Allow Interactive Sort".

Thanks,

Michael

Are you using any Chart Interrecord Functions like Above or Below? Those functions interfere with interactive sorting; there's no message - it just doesn't work when you double-click the heading.

Double clicking also doesn't work properly if you haven't selected a way to sort the column on the Sort tab.

Hi

I had the same problem. For me the reason was that there were inactive expressions above the expression that I wanted to change sort order for. Once I moved the expression above all inactive expressions, it worked fine.

Hi,

did you check at least one of the sorting possibilities?

There must be at least one sorting possibility, but you also have to check if you have more than one and one of them doesnot make sense (sorting numbers as text).

I also had problems with expressions that were disabled or dimensions with problems (dimensions with errors didn't appear but they mess with sorting)

Johan's solution worked for me!

Tested with QV11 SR2 64bits.

You're right, Johan. Thanks.

Any expression *below* any inactive (by clicking 'disable expression' checkbox or because enabling condition is not met) expression in the expressions list of the graphic object only sorts one way (ascending or descending, depending what was selected in the 'Sort' tab for that expression)

Trying to figure out a solution right now (I need conditional enabling of expressions and can't put the rest of them *above*)...
