Message: No Server, QVS@hostname is down

Dear All,

I have installed QvServer 11 SR1 setup with IIS as Webserver.

All Qlikview services running in Service console & IIS is also working fine.

In QMC Service tab QVS status is Disconneted and it shows

"Failed to contact the service.
hostname: Disconnected"

In Access Point it shows: Message: No Server

In Windows Application event log it shows:

System.Exception: Failed to retrieve document list from the specified QVS

   at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.GetUserDocumentList(Guid qvsID)

   at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.Diagnostics.CacheDocumentAvailable()

Please advice how do we overcome this? what conflict does it make not to work ?

Thanks,
Kumar

Sunil, FYI, This is Qv full installation, Single machine with IIS.
Even now I have stopped IIS, refreshed the services but issue still exists.

Hi kumarm215,

I've had the same problem you are facing with Qlikview Server on Amazon Cloud. The Qlikview Server was working fine after the installation and in the next day it stopped working.

In my case, it has occurred due to a service called ec2config which was changing the server name each time the machine was restarted.

See the following links for details about ec2config service:

https://forums.aws.amazon.com/message.jspa?messageID=317249

http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/UsingConfig_WinAMI.html

I've solved the problem disabling the ec2config service to prevent it to run each time the machine was restarted,  and correcting the server name in QVS, DSC and QVWS on QMC-> Server -> Setup, because the urls was using the older server name.

Hope it helps you.
