two developers working on a single qlikview document

We are working on development of a qlikview application, till now there used to be a single developer, but now, two developers need to work on a single application. We are new to  Qlikview and need to know how can the work be divided for a single application

Hi sonika,

There are two ways to work on single application by multiple developer.

1) Either you can divide the responsibility of development in term of data modelling and design.

2) You can divide design of single application in term of dashboard, analytics etc....

I have two licenses for qlikview now, so I wanted to know how the two developers can work on an a sinlge qvw ...both are working on designing the dashboard

The developers can both work on the same dashboard simultaneously but only if they divide the work so that they work on different objects and maintain rather strict process on merging the results (which would need to happen quite often to minimise the possibility of errors made in that phase). They can use individual copies of the main .qvw for development and copy-paste their results back to the main file, but it might get tedious and will be error-prone.

It is much easier if they could work on different parts of the .qwv as Sunil Jain explained.

Hi Jain,

If you have qlikview publisher license then this is very easy.

In publisher you can work on the same file simultaneously.

Hi Sonika,

You can use SVN. Multiple developers can work locally and then commit the application,which updates the application residing on the SVN server.So the application on the SVN server is always the latest and you can also get the latest updated application from the server.
