How to Provide Authentication ?

Hi ,

I have developed a qvw file. Now how to provide authentication for it.(i.e) the file before opening must ask for username and password   and check if it matches. Can it be done only when the qvw file is deployed from server or what ?

Did u check the Option???

I have one more doubt. Will this section access work only if i deploy the .qvw file in the qlikview server

no no, its not like that, it works on desktop also..

Hi Nagammai,

I have attached a reference zip file for you.

It contains a sample for Security. Please have a look.

Security can be Used Id based  or by NT name.

User ID and password will be asked by Qvw irrespective of a desktop or server.

A NT name will only work via Access point i.e. On server with a License.

Thanks for attaching a sample file. I am not able to open the .qvw file. "cannot open the .qvw file"

check if you are using a personal edition.. you need to have a licensed qv version on your system to be able to open the qvw...
