Licence Lease Issue

Hi All,

I am trying to lease a licence on a qlikview desktop but its not working.

When i use Open in Server option from Qlikview desktop the it prompts

for the password and after that it opens a window which shows a folder name

with name IP of Server on which QVServer is installed. But licence is not getting

applied on the Qv Desktop.

Any Ideas why this is happening?

I had a similar issue and it was due to case sensitivity on the user id.

This sounds like the user account you are connecting to the server with has no rights to any documents on the server.  This can often be an Active Directory issue, if not Section Access.  Get to the point where you can see these documetns in Access Point before trying to lease a licence.

Contrary to what was posted earlier in the thread, you should be able to lease a licence from the server to two separate machines using the one login, both leases will use the same CAL.

It is not possible to lease a licence from a Test server - do you have a full production licence on the server you are trying to lease from?

Also, please remember, Test Servers and Extranet Servers don't lease licenses.

Another idea is to leave it as dynamic leasing, ask the user to login and see what "domain\user" it gets assigned to.

Hello

does really test server not lease license ?

That's correct.  You should only be able to have a test server licence if you also have a full server licence as well on another box.  Just lease the licence from the live server to work on the test server.  The only time that you will have a problem is if you totally isolate your test environment from your production environment.
