QV server 11 SR1s ervices are not running after installation

After installing QV 11 SR1 as a single server installation none of the QV services is running.

I can manually start Directory service connector, Qv Server service and QV webserver.

Distrubution service fails to start with following message:

distributions.PNG

In the log I find following error :

11.05.2012 15:40:50.6955982    Error    Exception=System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot load Counter Name data because an invalid index '' was read from the registry.

   at QDSMain.MainClass.CheckAndInitializeEnviroment(ILogBucket logBucket, ClusterRegistration clusterReg)

   at QDSMain.MainClass.Run()

When looking higher up in the log file and find following:

The user running the service is local admin, so it should have access or?

QV management service just stops so soon as I start it with no message. Log saying:

The post http://community.qlik.com/thread/52785?tstart=30 has similar symptoms, but I tried the fix with no result.

Managed to solve the issue now.  The .net framework installation seemed to be corrupt. Reinstalled OS and then it works fine.

Try to create new user, add em to 2 groups:

Local Admins and

QV Admins,

then set services to launch with this user.

User must have

UNchecked property User must change password (password need to be setted) and

password newer expired (if u need it).

GoodLuck

The original user had the same rights, and I did the same when trying to follow the solution in http://community.qlik.com/thread/52785?tstart=30

But anyway I tried again now, and the same problem still exists.

Rather than re-install the os, I ran a cmd prompt as admin and ran "lodctr /R"  this rebuilds the performance counters in .NET.  Worked for me anyway.

Hi pwhoriskey,

This innocuous command worked for me. I was struggling for more than two days. Tryied uninstall-reinstall multiple times, nothing worked. This simple command did the magic. Thanks a ton.
