Accessing a document directly

Is it possible to access a document directly through a URL?  For example...

1.)  Paste URL into IE

2.)  Login

3.)  QV document opens

This would skip the AccessPoint document selection screen.  Thanks!  Appreciate any help.

I'm running QV 10.  Just to confirm, you're able to access the IE plugin version of the dashboard with a direct link when you paste the relative path URL?

I just used the straight path not the relative path.  The one issue to check to see is if the document is located in a subfolder or you are not including a space properly.  Did you try:

qvp://QLIKVIEWSERVER/CCS%20PoC/CSPoC.qvw

I've tried several variations of the above link, including removing all spacing in the actual file/folder names.  Can't get it to work.

Hi,

I've just had the same problem when upgrading fom v9 to v10. Before the upgrade I was able to access a document directly using the plugin and later I wasn't. No problem with Ajax.

After trying to reinstall and searching a little bit I found that the link before the upgrade was (using your example):

http://QLIKVIEWSERVER/QvAJAXZfc/AccessPoint.aspx?open=&id=qvs@QLIKVIEWSERVER%7CCS%20PoC/CSPoC.qvw&client=Plugin

and later

http://QLIKVIEWSERVER/QvAJAXZfc/AccessPoint.aspx?open=&id=Local%7CCS%20PoC/CSPoC.qvw&client=Plugin

So, for some reason when the upgrade was done, something change in the server configuration. Then when I went to:

QEMC>System>Setup>QlikView Web Servers>QVWS@QlikViewServerName>Access Point>Name

And I looked at the drop-down list I found 'Local' (the one selected) and 'QVS@QlikViewServerName', choosing the second one and applying the settings was the solution. It was interesting too that 'Local' disappeared from the list.

Hope it was helpful!

Do you have single sign on enabled in your installation?  I'm having the same issue where I go to the login screen first, and after logging in, it won't continue to pass the URL, so it just goes to AccessPoint.

It's possibly my issue would be resolved by setting up single sign on, but curious if you have it setup.  Thanks!  And good to know to look for that screen.  Mine was also setup to 'Local' and disappeared after switching it.

Hi gchien30,

I've been scouring posts for ages  looking for the right answer to this, finally found it so I thought I would post it back here so others can find it.

If you want to 'by-pass' access point and link straight to the url, using the qv webserver, try this url:

http://<<SERVERNAME>>/QvAJAXZfc/opendoc.htm?document=Published/<<FILENAME>>&host=Local&client=Plugin

This works for me, so long as the qv server is set up to display all documents in the Published Folder,

Kind Regards,

Miles
