wrong format in excel

Dear all,

I would know if there is a way to avoid format  number conversion in Excel.

I've a pivot like this

Supplier     Purchase_2012     Purchase_2011     References

aaaa          12345                    456577               C1 -- C2 -- C3

Supplier, Purch_2012 and Purch_2011 are dimensions, Refrences is an expression

When I export to Excel, I need to convert the "Purchase columns" (2012 and 2011) because aren't recognize as number by Excel

How can I define these columns as number avoiding any kind of conversion in Excel ?

Thanks in advance

stefan

You can set the formatting on the Number tab of the properties screen. If you set this to the appropriate format then the export to excel should work correctly.

Yes, but as far I know, it's only possible for expressions. My values are calculated dimensions (by aggr)

and it isn't possible to assign the format by the number tab. I tried to use the "num" function but without success.

You're right. Dimensions will be exported to excel as text. I think the only thing you can try is use a macro to export to excel and then have the code set the formatting in excel too. Fortunately rebeccad has already created a macro that does this.
