Keep disconnecting when using plugin

Hi,

Is this a bug or some parameter to be set on server?

When i'm connecting via plugin, i keep disconnecting in very short interval also i set time out at 60 mins.

I'm on V11 SR1

what could it be?

Look in the event log on the server to find the disconnect reason. Common reasons are:

- Same userid in use on another machine.

- Document reloaded.

Hi Rob,

thanks for the tips, normally it happens to end users.

and most of the time we are using session lic and i open all of them.

Document reloaded, unlikely for my case.

One other thing i notice when it happens is that QVS.exe is using almost full CPU.

and so i restart the services and refresh the browser.

Do you think of any other causes?

Thanks.

Here is from the server event log.

" The QlikView Server service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 10 milliseconds: Restart the service. "

My guess is the that disconnect is from the server timing out when your server goes non-responsive. It could be that your server is underpowered or you have a runaway task.

Hi Rob,

I'm on x64, 24-core, 64GB RAM.

Is there a way to avoid it?

If i have to improve the hardware, which one do i start? RAM? CPU? Both?

The thing is, when the disconnection happen, i have no task running on the server, it was just few users connecting.

Could it be the user's PC? wifi or LAN or the plugin ?

Hard to say from a distance.

My first step would be to profile what the load is when the failure happens. I'd recommend setting your performance logging to 5 minutes so you can track how many documents are loaded and the RAM usage.

How many documents are loaded and how many user sessions are active when the failure occurs? Check the event log for document loads to see if the failure occurs after a specific document is loaded. You can also turn on audit logging to see if a specific activity preceeds the failure.

Did you find a resolution for this Nick - I am getting the same message in my event log:

The QlikView Server service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 2 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 10 milliseconds: Restart the service.

This is after an upgrade from QV10 to QV 11 SR2 Update 1.
