You also need to install the extension on the QlikView server. There is a section about this in the rerefernce manual:

22

QlikView Server Extensions

22.1

Adding Extensions to QlikView Server

To run QlikView Extensions on a QlikView Server, the contents of the Extensions folder have to be copied from %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects to the %ProgramData%\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects folder on the server.

If the path to the extensions is changed (for example, to a common place for all servers in a cluster), that path must be used instead. Note that the path set corresponds to %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions (that is, it does not include \Objects).

Magnus,

Even i placed the extension object at server system specified path also i am not able to see the extension object in that application at accesspoint.

The application which i have developed is with personel edition.

OK that is strange. I don't think personal edition would make any difference in this case.

It is very sensitive which exact path you are using. I just did a quick test with the WebPageViewer example which was installed to this path:

C:\Users\mls\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikView\Examples\WebPageViewer

Then it will not work on the server unless the path is exactly the following, including all sub folders:

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects\QlikView\Examples\WebPageViewer

The only thing I can think of is to double check the exact path, maybe one of the sub folders is missing, note that you have to create everything under C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer manually.

Hi,

I am facing same issue. Extension folder path and the files placed are same. But it's not getting open.

The file is getting open in my desktop.

Placed file in both locations

ie

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects and

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects.

It's not resolved. Both Server's desktop and Accesspoint are showing nothing. I could not find any extension object in add Extension object option also.

Have any one fixed this?.

Karthi

Thanks Raja!!

I've spend my whole day looking for what could be wrong on my QlikView - server.

All I had to do was to delete the path under Folders in QMC!

Hi Kumar.

I was just struggling with the same problem. In my case there are two servers: one with qlikview management concole and another into which the published documents are stored. I had saved the extensions to wrong server (i.e. to the one with QMC). When I saved the extensions to the other server I managed to get the extensions visible to Accesspoint.

Hi Ravi,

are you using the IE plugin OR Full Browser Version(AJAX) to open the qvw in the Access Point?

It needs to be the later.
