Question on Needing a Dedicated Server for Deploying QV

Hi

We are in the midst of deploying our QV Applicaion to our customers.

Can the QV Server be used for more then just hosting QV. We have another  application ( a Large DB App) that we want our customers to have access to. We could and usually did put it on separate server but thought it would be more cost effective if we could co-locate on the QV server.

Is this within best practices, if we did this would it violate any support warranty?

Does QV need to have a dedicated server ?

Thanks Cjack...

QlikTech would say no because of RAM usage. This is directly from their technical brief:

Running other applications on the same box as the QlikView Server is never recommended. As

a general rule the goal is to maximize the amount of RAM that will be available to analyze data

in QlikView and running other applications on the same server is contrary to this goal.

A Large DB App would be a definite no.  Hope this helps.

Figured it was this way, but the non techies always have to see it in writing before they stop asking such crazy questions….
