Hi,
I have a pivot table with 5 dimensions and 16 expressions - therefore, the 5 dimension columns are "frozen" while the 16 expressions are scrollable within the pivot table. The problem is, when I select one of the cells in an expression column (in an attempt to filter the dataset on a single cell value), the values for all of the other 15 expressions in the same row are also selected as filters. I only want the single cell that I select to be a filter on the dataset. How can I achieve this?
Many thanks,
VB
If possible try to move to Straight Table..
Moving to a straight table is not possible because the user requested a pivot table.
You've got a problem... It is not possible to do as your requirement. In both pivot table and straight table, when you click on a expression cell, it will apply the filters only to the Dimensions, just as you saw.
One workaround is, if you use a straight table, you can set an expression to be searchable (Chart Properties > Presentation > Columns > Select your expression column > Check the 'Searchable' option). Though this is different to your requirement...
