Textbox & Table Link

Hello fellow Qlikviewers,

The below question has been asked by me before on this forum. Someone then offered a workaround, but that wasn't what I was looking for.

I have once again stumbled upon the same problem, so I thought I'd just try again.

I have created a text box containing information about a table on my dashboard.

Now I want this text box to automatically open when I open the table. If I close the table, the text box should close as well.

So what I am looking for, is that the text box opens when I double-click the minimized table-header, and that the text box will close when I minimize the table by double-clicking the header again...

Is there a way to 'link' this table and this text box to eachother?

The answer is likely the same this time. It's not possible since object triggers for sheet objects have been removed in QV11. You can use a button (or text object) to set a variable and use the variable for the conditional display expression of both the table and the accompanying text box to hide/show them together.

The previous time I asked my question, the responder didn't say it wasn't possible, but he did give me the same workaround as you presented just now... I guess I'll just have to implement that, thanks for the help!

Did you consider using Title Text or Help text available in the Caption tab of Properties window for the table box?

Since it is version 11 you could also consider using a container object in grid-mode that contains the chart and the text object. In this way when you minimize/maximize the container, both objects dissappear/reappear.
