Count Concurrent/Overlapping Session Timestamps?

All,

I have a session log flat file with User sessions. I'm looking for overlapping sessions times by distinct users.

I'm trying to do this at Object or Chart level if possible.

The attached Excel file shows the desired highlighted overlaps. Where my Chart only sees one instance.

My end result would be a chart or column that shows a count for each overlapping session.

Check the attached qvw.

Though it has a conceptual problem when the session starts in one day and ends in other.

Great Job Fernando!

I'm ok, with the days not taken into account. The server client session will time out long before that would occur. This meets the analysis perfectly.

If I wanted to change it to larger increments i.e. minutes/hrs vs. 30sec.  would it still work?

Yes if you change the "sampling" interval it should still work.

Though you must be careful with the time interval not being too distant, as it may not consider a session. For example if you have a session from 00:00:01 to 00:29:59 and your sampling interval is for each 30 minutes, it will not be considered neither in the 00:00:00 and in the next 00:30:00. Hope I made my point clear enough...
