QVD LEVEL SECURITY

Dear All,

There is a company A which has the security table maintained in SAP BW for all the users of its subsidiaries A1 and A2.

The requirement is that the users of subsidiaries A1 and A2 should be able to see its respective data while loading from qvd at development level.

So security has to be applied on qvd level or please suggest some solution if possible.

Source Databse ----> Extractor QVW ---> qvd---> security has to be applied here ---> Data Mapping QVW ---> Final SECTION ACCESS applied QVW

Hi..

i am not sure security can be applied on qvds. but if you want to hide scripts  u can use binaly load

1) first extract the qvds

2)build the datamodel

3)load the entire datamodel using binary load..

and on top of it build the UI...

Hi.

As I know (until now....), you can't protect qvd. You must do it in filesystem (permissions).

Can you use initial data reduction based on section access?

Hi.

What I was trying to say is that you protect the qvd in windows with NTFS permissions.

See part of document from http://robwunderlich.com/  when talk about qvd.

Q: I am running SBE Server so documents are reloaded right from

the Documents folder. What is your recommendation for location

of the QVD generator documents? In other words, doyou place

them in the Documents folder alongside your production QVW’s?

I recommend putting the QVD generators in a separate "Loaders"

folder. Make this a mounted folder in QVS and schedule reloads as

needed. Use NTFS permissions to hide the folder from standard AP
