Error: The sourcedocument failed to reload.. Exception=System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Hello guys,

I get the following error in QlikView 9.0:

Error: The sourcedocument failed to reload.. Exception=System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Error: at QlikView.Doc.DoReload(Int32 _Mode, Boolean _Partial, Boolean _Debug)

Error: at QVBWrapper.Document.Reload(ILogBucket i_LogBucket, Boolean i_MonitorQVBCPUUsage, Boolean i_Partial, Boolean i_ReadDocumentLog)

My document reloads fine manually and I have the log from the Server/Publisher reload and it says that it has finished, so the error must be coming right after that, when it tries to save the QVW file, because my QVW file stays as it was before the reload.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the reason?

Greetings,
Iassen

I understand that this undefined error comes out in very different contests ... so this is not a general "solution", only an advice to put under scrutiny things everything and try lateral thinking.

Instead of .dosave (that appears not to be in the API Guide anymore - though it was functioning at the customer site until last week...) I used .save (simpler.. why didn't my colleague us this before?).

NO MORE ERROR. It looks to me as some framework change on the part of the system triggered this problem that has a solution in one method that probably replaced the other.

I am using QV 10 SR 1 and got the message twice in 1 day for the log file analysis which runs every 30 minutes. Have not found a solution yet.

We are currently receiving the same error with a re-load occuring every 15 minutes and the re-load is taking only around a minute. Strangely enough it occurs randomly day or night. We were thinking it was a locking issue but have put dirty read commands on and it still appears.

Any help would be great.

Cheers,

Ryan

I'm also having the same issue in QV 11 Server.

It only occurs when loading all the rows from the csv file.

THe file is about 3 gb in size, the task fails when more than 10.000.000 rows are loaded.

any suggestions?

Good Morning:

It is a bug (ID 50354) and it was corrected on SR2.

Please upgrade to QV 11 SR2 and everything work fine, including antivirus.

Yesterday we upgraded to QV 11 SR2 due to an intermittent issues that caused the Distribution Service to fail. Now every workbook reload is giving this error:

Error: The sourcedocument failed to reload.. Exception=System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800706BE): The remote procedure call failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE)

And this in the Application Log:

Faulting application name: qvb.exe, version: 11.20.11643.0, time stamp: 0x50c0e2ed

We are running on Win 2008 R2.

If you have any ideas about how to resolve this, please help!

I think you have upgrade form QV 11.0 SR1 to QV 11.2 by the number version. I've QV 11.0 SR2 and I don't know the differences between them.

If you don't need the newest features of 11.2 one possible solution could be uninstall 11.2 and install 11SR2 ... but I'm not an expert on this kind of tasks and I can't predict if it will works.
