When try to apply a valid license it shows an error:

Server Failed To Set License: <servername> : Unable to contact the Qlikview License Enabling Server. Please verify that you are connected ti the internet and try again or contact qlikview support for assistance.

I checked and i do have internet conenction i can even go into Qlikview.com

Does anybody has or had the same problem??

Hi all,

I solved the problem reducing the name lenght of the virtual machine.

The local machine name was too long for Microsoft domain machine name rule and it was truncated in active directory, so reducing it I made it work!

What exactly is the license key?  QlikView has sent me several license numbers, which seem to correspond to serial numbers as used in QEMC; control numbers; and LEFs; but no license key.  Does this strike anyone else as needlessly complex?

Hi Jonathan Shaltz

The license is made of 3 elements

1. serial number o license key (is the same) has 16 digits

2. Control number has 5 digits

3. The lef is a code with info about your license it starts with your serial numbers but is only part of the LEF.

The first 2 elements are necesary for activate your Qlikview software, but if you dont have internet access you need the 3rd element LEF to activate your software.

What was the original name and what did you change it to?  I still get "Server failed to set license: QVS@cre-qv10: Failed to connect to server" even after the manual LEF approach...

I have tested this numerous times and never have had an issue. Can you give more detail about you setup? Like using qvws or IIS, etc? What version of QV using, x64 or x86, what OS?

Can you send me your license number (offline and through email).

Of Course Bill

Is a Virtual Server:

WinServer 2008 R2  x64

Ram: 20 GB

CPU: 4 Processors 20 cores

QVS 11.0.11440 SR2

Using QVWServer

I tried many times to set the license online and offline using the LEF but always failed with the message:

"Server failed to set license: QVS@Entrega2012-PRO: Failed to connect to server

And looking the post of robrobin and  g.rodeghiero where their servers name were QVS@cre-qv10  and QLIK-Eurosys2 respectively so I tried after having changed my name server to Entrega2012BI (removing "-PRO") the license was set at the first try without a problem. I sent the license to you via e-mail.

I've got just the same problem:

Server failed to set license: QVS@dmits98: Failed to connect to server

but there's no "-" in the server name and I've entered the LEF file.

It's Win 2008 R2
