Can you distribute reports to a set of email addresses, with email address associated with a dimension?

Does Qlikview have the ability to distribute Reports to users without Qlikview licenses via email?  Can you associate email addresses with dimensions and have a job automatically deliver the respective report to the user, tied in with section access and data reduction or something of that nature?

Hi,

In short, what you are asking for is QlikView Publisher, the software in charge of tasks (reload, reduce, distribution, all three...) that may work looping by a field value (say, email address or dimension value, i.e.: Region) then save a reduced copy of the full dataset, then send by email as a QVW to authorized users.

There is an addo-on for QlikView Publisher, that is PDF Distributor, that prints a given QlikView report within a QVW document and sends it by email to the recipients manually assigned or looping by a field value.

Thanks for your comment. 

I am more looking for the capability you discussed in b, distributing via PDF to some  NONLICENSED qlikview users.

We did something like this in the early 90's at Dun and Bradstreet software, where we distributed replica files (like Adobe pdf) to users specified on dimensions.   This allowed distribution to folks that did not have to have the full desktop solution installed and licensed, only needed an email client and a replica reader.

Hi Don,

Distribution to PDF is allowed actually to non licensed users, because recipients do not need a QlikView Desktop or any other QlikView software or license installed onto their computers, just any PDF reader. However, the QlikView Server does need the Publisher + PDF Distributor license.
