DSC did not respond to request

Hi All,

I am getting the error: "DSC did not respond to request" when I click on my qvw application under user document in QMC.

Please see the screen shot attached for details. I am using QVWS and QVS 11.

Thanks in advance,

Anosh Nathaniel

Hi Anosh,

Did you check this thread? Anyway, make sure the directory you have set (either LDAP or Active Directory from Windows) is working fine. To make sure directories are properly configured, as a first step, go to the Users tab in the QMC and search for any user you know it exists in the system, by specifying DOMAIN\USERNAME as the search string.

Make sure the user configured in the QMC, System, Setup, QlikView Directory Services is set to login as a user with permissions to read from the AD or LDAP server. If you are not sure about this, check with your IT manager.

Hope that helps.

Miguel

i have this same problem, and solved it by using the IP address of the server in the configuration URL.  (instead of 'localhost' or servername).    so the DSC url would be something like this:

http://192.168.1.4:4730/DSC/Service

Tammy,

Good solution. It's working fine now. I tried many thing (Reinstalled QMC/Services/ OS Services configurations). This is good information. No issues as of now . But don't understand the technical thing involved in changing the URL name alone. Can you share us why it's working fine with the IP.

Thanks,

Karthi

try to ping the server by server name or localhost. in my situation, the reply was returning an IPv6 address, and I dont think QV understands IPv6

Is the user id used to login to DSC a member of the Qlikview Administrator group on the Local machine?

Starting the Windows service "Qlikview Directory Service Connector " solved this problem/ error message for me.

The description of this service states: Keeps track of all the users through the selected Directory Services.
