QV server service starts with error

Hi,

I've uninstalled QV serevr 8.5 and installed the version 9.0. after the restart in Services log I see that all the QV services are started, bet when I try to open QV Management console I see 3 disconnected services.

In QVS event log I find a following line for each service restart:

2009-07-07 11:11:44 2009-07-07 11:11:44 2 104 Warning The initialization process failed. Cluster limit exceeded, going off duty

Please advise how to deal with that?

JC

Hi Janis,

If QVS detects that there is another QVS on your network with the same license number and you don't have clustering enabled, it will shut itself down.

Perhaps someone has setup a test server somewhere that has the wrong license?

I'm using absolutely new license for this server.

The server itself is a virtual server placed in Amazon Cloud.

Problem is that I haven't even entered the license - once I try to enter control string and code and press apply, system clears the fields and writes Success just above the Apply button. Looks like it doesn't even save the license information.

Hi Janis,

I did have something strange with services showing up as not being started once on a Xen VM. I ended up uninstalling, removing any QV files (especially in Documents and Settings) and registry entries and then re-installing. Worked then.

Sorry that I can't give a better solution.

Regards,

Stephen

is there some guidelines what exactly to remove and from where?

especially what registers and settings in some hidden folders.

Thanks,
