'Server communication lost, closing document!' error message randomly, help!!

We have a page setup which is being used as a wallboard to display caller data. The page is refreshed 'continuously' in the document refresh options in management console.

We keep getting an IE disconnect randomly with the web browser closing the page with the error 'Server communication lost, closing document!'.. this can happen several times per day or sometimes work for a few days with no problems.

This then displays the 'Server communication lost, closing document!' error in the IE webbrowser on the client machine.

We then have to reload the page in IE from the Qlikview webserver and things continue as normal.

The document refresh method is currently set to 'Server performs refresh automatically without client action' , but we have tried client initiates refresh option too.

Hi,

The "gracefully refresh" error means that QlikView is not able to save the application, as long as it is being used by for example, a developer that keeps it open. Make sure that you set the QMC, System, Setup, QlikView Servers, Documents tab to "Allow only one copy in memory" of the document.

Make sure as well that what you develop is a different file. And finally you might need to increase the time the file is reloaded to a, say, one minute...
