Line breaks --> No indication for truncated text

If text length exceeds the available column width, the text gets truncated - which is usually indicated by 3 dots (...)

BUT: if the text contains line breaks, Qlikview doesn't show the 3 dots (...).  Hence, the user has no evidence that there is some additional "hidden" information unless he hovers over the value. Is there a way to get the 3 dots?!

You could remove the line breaks from the string using replace

Thanks Gysbert, but the text should stay as it is (line breaks are necessary in that specific case) ...

Any other ideas?

Increase the height of the cells?

Create an extra field substringcount(Text, chr(10)) as Lines and show that in the table too?

Just live with it and explain it to your users?
