Access Denied..!! The server has no USER CAL for your account. Please contavt your administarator.

What this error means??

Hi

You have run out of available user CALs.

Go to QMC > System > Licenses

Click on the QV Server. On the General tab (on the right) you will see how many CALs have been assigned, and how many you have in you license.

Go to the Assigned CALs tab. Now go through the list and see which user's haven't logged in for a long time (you must decide how long). Now you can delete those assigned CAL's. Remember to click apply after each delete.

There should be some space now for new users.

If no CALs can be deleted, you will have to purchase more licenes.

Also, remember that you need to connect to a server where a production license is installed, not a test license.  Once you connect to a production server that has CALs available and open a document, close the document (not the client itself), and instead of the Personal Edition message, you should now see that you are leasing a license from the server.

The reason beyond that your number of users having licence is equal to your number of CALs. In other words, your users are using all of your licences and there is no more licence to give a new user.

First, check which licence type you're giving your users; User CALs or Document CALs.

Then;

  • If User CALs, go to CM>System>Licences>QlikView Server>Client Access Licences>Assigned CALs. Find a licence which is not used anymore, delete it and then add your new user.
  • If Document CALs, go to CM>Documents>User Documents. Find which document your user is trying to access. Then go to Document CALs and find a licence which is not used anymore, delete it and then add your new user or tell him/her to try to access. When s/he gets access, then s/he will get a licence.

HI,

This simply means you are running out of cals.

Check if you have any available cal on server if not consider buying new cals.
