Do filter states persist for users?

I've reviewed the server reference manuals and have not been able to determine if an individual users current filter states are persisted and then restored when they reopen a QV document.  Can someone answer this and point me to any configuration documentation that might relate.

Our clients are opening the QVW via a local Client install and File\Open in server now but we will be migrating them to the Access Point later so I'm also wondering about any differences in the session handling based off client.

By default QV doesn't remeber selection off client. However, you can implement trigger to make the application with a cerain selection, Otherwise, the application opens with the state, as was saved in the server.
