Hi,

We are having Qlikview server v11 SR1. From last week qvs is restarting frequently by itself. If anyone is haing same issues, please help me here to find out the reason.

Thanks

How many RAM do you have? We had the same problem with 48 GB in RAM, now we have 76 GB and all ok.

Versión 11.0.11440.0 SR2 64-bit Edition (x64)

Thanks for the reply Javier.

We have 64gb RAM and I checked performance log file during server restarting time 48gb RAM was free.

I don't think the RAM is the problem.

Thanks

There could be a lot of reasons why your having this problem,    make sure anti-virus software is not touching the folders where the .PGO, .shared, and .meta files are located.       What entries are you finding in the Event log?

Has anything changed on the Server that maybe affecting QV?

Hi,

Just to check, the "restarting" mean the whole server (physical) restarting or the QV service restarting itself ?

Can you share us the below details,

This happens for QVS alone or for other services too. Can you check any error/Connection failures in Event viewer.

Are you in clustered environment ?

What about the CPU usage when this occurs?

Karthi

This is happening only in QVS not for other services or whole server. I found  Error in Event Viewer

'The description for Event ID ( 300 ) in Source ( QlikViewServer ) cannot be found'.

and in Event Log file for Qlikview

Error Extensions: Failed to load extension . Make sure it is available at the correct location

I checked in qlikview community for this error, it says this is a bug in v11 sr1.

We are not in clustered enviroment and maximum CPU usage is 36%

Thanks

Hi Sat,

You're right for the Extension error is a bug for V11 RS1, but this error will not caused your QVS service to fail.

Meanwhile, as for V11 SR1 you need to take more care for a setting called "Link Machine Name" as it will cause your documents (application) accessing issue. Yet this setting can only be changed through editing the config file directly (you can't change it on QVMC due to application bugs).
