Hi ,

Sorry for update late.  I didn't find the root cause but found I was installed a beta release.  While upgrade/re-install to a stable release, the problem had gone.

Thanks for all your replies.

with regards,

Richard

Is the account running the Distribution Service a member of the local Administrators group?

Take a look at the log in C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\Root*

Hi Rob,

Thanks for reply.

Have checked the account (which is a domain user account) to start the service is one of local admin group.  I tried restart with local administrator but failed.

the log in "C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log\Root" has checked and seemed no obvious  root cause.

It looks like the Desktop Heap problem, but that doesn't sound right because it appears you are trying to start only one engine. Do you have other services like SQL Server running on this box or is it QV only?

You may want to try the registry change to increase the desktop heap. It's documented in the Server Ref Guide on page 112.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for indicating the reference document. It's helpful.

I don't have QlikView Publisher installed an it it possible causing the "QlikView Distribution Service" cannot start?

QlikView Desktop didn't install on this server. And I didn't install SQL server on the QlikView server , but install oracle Client thru microsoft odbc.

The Desktop Heap note applies whether you have Publisher or not. The same Distribution Service is used whether you have Publisher or not. You might want to take this one to QT Support.

I had this problem many times and if the QVS is in a domain, try to create a new mortal domain user (non-domain administrator and no ones uses it for anything) and set in the administrators group of your server then assign it to the start services of Qlikview.
