chart

hi all,

i m making a pie chart with the data content i hav attached. it shows rating of employees. on selecting the rating it shows the name of employees having that rating. there are two table for it. should i hav to concatenate the table.

thanx for your support.

I made the change in Sheet2 and added EmpID in it. Made a Cross table join

of EmpID & Years.(I removed the EmpName, and Date of joining). Later I

tried to make a Pie chart making a group of Rating data and EmpName. But

nothing is coming in the chart. Help me.

Just load them separately and allow them to join on the common field. Although it is generally better to join on an ID field rather than name which may not be unique. Can your first sheet of dimension data not contain the EmpID?

Also, you may look to Crosstable() the second sheet fact data to allow it to expand more naturally and have "Year" as a selectable field.

What I was capable of I did but I also had to make changes in the table. I

As in the file there was experience. If I have to group the experience in

group of 1-5 yrs, 6-10 yrs, and +10 yrs. Plz tell me how?
