Lease license

Hello

I got a named Cal given for user X=Corp\X

there is another user Y=Corp\Y

the user Y wants to lease license on his local QlikView Client

Can user Y use Open in Server feature and lease license by logging using user X credentials?

I tried it but client is not leasing license

Please advise

ok in my environment I have a named cal given to user X

a domain user Y installed QlikView client this user opens-in-server a document using the credentials of user X but still the client remains personal edition

in management console the option to lease license is checked

When the user goes to Open In Server and enters the "Log on as specified user" credentials under authentication and then clicks Open >> and finally enters the specified user's password, do they get the list of documents for the specified user?

yes and user Y is able to view and analyse the document available on the SERVER but the client remains Personal Edition

so if user Y is given a document developed by other user it cannot be open

If User Y goes to Help > Document Support Info, what does it say under Licence Key and LeasedLicenceExpiry and LeasedLicenceServer? This might give you some clue as to why it isn't upgrading PE to licensed edition

The most likely thing that has happened is that the licence has already been leased to more than one client.  This then fails silently and behaves as you describe.  You can see this under the licence history in QMC.

Whatever the reason that it isn't working leasing a single user licence to multiple different users contravenes the licence agreement - so a QlikTech forum may not be the best place to be asking the question?
