Slow distribution of a huge report.

Hello all,

I have developed a report with this parameters:

  • Fact table 14M rows.
  • Several dimension tables, sum of all rows 7,6M rows, huge dimension 2,8M.

All developed in a star schema.

So the load of the data from the database to the QVD's takes around 10 minutes.

Then the load of the report from that QVD's takes less than 2 min, but the distribution to "all users" in a mounted folder with QlikView publisher takes around 20 min!!

The size of the report once distributed is 217mb.

It is normal this time to distribute a report of this size?

Do you have some recommendation or solution?

Thanks.

Ginés.

I encountered exactly the same issue as you.  It is a QlikView Bug that is corrected in: Ver11.20 SR3.

Please refer to this thread:

     http://community.qlik.com/thread/96612

Until you apply that version you can manually restart your QlikView Distribution Service every day or two.

a)     What version of QlikView are you running ?

b)     Could you restart your QlikView Distribution Service and advise if that improves the time taken for the distribution to "all users"

Hello Bill,

Thanks for answering.

The version is QlikView 11 SR2.

I have found this http://community.qlik.com/message/355929

And as you said I have restarted the Service and it works, but really the solution is to schedule a reset of the QlikView Distribution Service? There is no another solution?

Thanks.
