Can different location server paths be mounted on a same QMC?

Hi All,

I have a server path mounted on my EE QlikView server in QMC and all the apps are getting distribute successfully to that path.

Now my requirement is to add one more mounted path:the new server path is from different location (different country), so that I can distribute some QVWs to the new path. Till now I am moving the files manually to the new path, now it should be automated.

Is it possible? Will it not hamper the performances in the local server?

Please elaborate the steps to do the same.

Regards!!

First think to check is if the Service account has rights to the share. You have to use the UNC path because service accounts can not use Mapped drives.

Fair cop re UNC path - I'd forgotten about the difficulties of service accounts and Mapped drives.

And yup, I agree when you say:

Hi BB,

What's a UNC exactly means?

My service Accounts has rights to share.

Also using the Service Accounts ID (on which Services are running), I mapped the Network Drive also. Still when I mount the path in QMC, the distribution is failing saying 'Check Validity' .

Is it not possible to use the Mapped Drives as distribuion location?

Am confused

In this example the UNC path is the \\emea.menzies.net\bi\data

   net use M: \\emea.menzies.net\bi\data

Hi,

No, you can't make a drive to a share and use the Drive letter. You have to use the UNC path.

\\servername\sharename
