Distribution Service Disconnected

After installing QV Server 9 SR1, two services are "disconnected" - directory Service Connector, and Distribution Service.
Both services are running. In fact, all Qlikview services are running.
I cannot schedule reload. There is a "reconnect" button on the Reload page to reconnect Distribution Service, but it doesn't connect.
Nothing special in the Event Viewer.
Log file for Distribution Service says in last line "...Qlikview Distribution Service v9.0.7257 is up and running..."

What can be wrong?

Appreciate any hints.

I have no idea where the log files resides. (The log files I have found is "Normal" but given that I haven't really got a clue of what to look for that could be false too).

After uninstall of SR1 and install of SR2 of QVS the problem is still there. All other services are running, only the distribution service is unable to start.

if you are running on vista / server 2008 the distribution service logs can be found in C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Publisher\Qlikview Distribution Service\1\Log\.

for general stuff it's most likely default.txt that is of interest. check for any "error" lines (as opposed to "information").

cheers,

AHOY!

I have the solution!

Stop the QV services in the service manager of windows.

go to c:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Publisher\Qlikview Distribution Service\

remove Workorder.xml (both the clean and the .old one)

go to the directory 1 in the same location.

remove Workorder.xml here too.

start the services. great success!

I still having problem with the same issue. The services are turned red and no errors are reported in the logfiles. I am a bit curious why it suddently turned red ? Could it be related to any Windows update ?

I have found a solution on this issue. I cant really say why this occured neither why the changes I made turned this issue to a non-issue.

I replaced all pointers with computer names with the real IP adress to the server in the Config.xml file found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikviewManagementService and restarted the Managment Service and then I got green light again ! Phew ! Big Smile

Config.xml:

<WizardLocalConfig><CommandCenterAddress>http://10.10.1.144:4710/qtcc.asmx</CommandCenterAddress><ServerAdminIsDocumentAdmin>True</ServerAdminIsDocumentAdmin><RunMode>QvsOnly</RunMode><QVSWorksetLimits /><QvsModeDscUrl>http://10.10.1.144:4730/qtds.asmx</QvsModeDscUrl><QvsModeQdsUrl>http://10.10.1.144:4720/qtxs.asmx</QvsModeQdsUrl><QvsModeQvsUrl>qvp://10.10.1.144/</QvsModeQvsUrl></WizardLocalConfig>
