Longitude and latitude question

I have a question for everyone.....

I have on mi source files suppliers, customers and carriers, obviusly with their addresses and zip code, Is there any way to get lattitude and longitude of their locationes with their addresses and zip codes? I´d like to show it in the main app in a map.

So if the user enters another customers, suppliers or shippers, automatically obtain the Longitude and Latitude.

If there´s an example around the community would br great.

Cheers

There is no such thing as a free lunch
But here is an example that will pass along addresses to Google and gets coordinates back in return.

It contains a tiny macro which will do the url encoding for you so keep that in mind.

There is a limit on how many addresses you can Geocode a day and you should probably purchase a more reasonable quota from Google if this is a common occurrence.

Hi Nelson,

look for "batch geocoding" in google. It will take you to a web page that will convert your addresses to latitude and longitudes.

Hope this helps-

Hi Sato,

Do u know if i can do that within the script in the transformation step? I think that the user wouldn´t like to do that in order to get latitude and longitude. I was thinking, when the user enter the address, QlikView would get the lat and long and show it in the map.

Alexander,

Thanks a lot for it, I got it already and made the translation to spanish for some others who would need it.
