Straight and Pivot table vs. Table Box

On an existing document, i right click a table to -> help. Table is said to be a Straight Table, and it is mentioned that other time of table is Pivot Table.

On a new document in PE 11, when i want to create a similar table, i right click -> new sheet object. the only table object type that is available is Table Box.

What are differences between these kind of tables ? How can i create a Straight or Pivot Table in a new QLikView document ?

Regards

Hi,

in straight table and pivot you can add expressions, ie sum(Value), whereas in the table box you can add only the available field (no calculation).

You have to select chart to create a straight/pivot table and then, in the general tab you can select the type of chart.

In Straight Table or Pivot Table one can calculate the value using expression such as you can sum, count, aggregation. But in Table Box you can not use any aggregation function. It always looks like raw data table.

Hi Oilandgas,

Table is just a display of Records and rest other are used group/Aggr/Min/Max with respect to Records.

for Charts you need to right click -->New Sheet Objects-->Charts and select your chart as mention below

Also I have attached a QlikView Reference Manual which you can find in your system too @

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikView Documentation\Reference Manual (Win 7)

just go through that you will get to know abt the differences.

Enjoy Qlicking

cheers!!!
