Error: "Too many document CALs allocated"

I'm fairly new to QlikView. I have a dashboard/report that I want to make available to view, here's what I'm doing:

In the QlikView Management Console, I'm selecting the Documents tab and highlighting the relevant report.

Where it says Number of CALs allocated to this Document: I am entering 1 then clicking Apply.

The message I then see is Too many document CALs allocated.

Selecting Allow dynamic CAL assignment makes no difference.

If I just try to assign a user, I can click on Manage Users, select a name and apply the selection to the Selected Users box. When I click off the tab and back again, the name has disappeared.

I know I have 45 User CALs available and 39 are used on other reports so I have 6 to spare.

So how do I assign a user to a report?

Thanks.

The following suggests you have run out of free Document CALs ...

Document CALs not allocated on server: 0 (i.e. all CALs assigned)

... do you have some CALs on documents in their "Quarantine" period which are preventing them being re-assigned, hence the difference in your count of 39.

Actually, if you only have User CALs as you mentioned, applying doc CALs is not possible.

You only can assign User CALs on the System tab --> Licenses.

I have 2 user CALs and 45 document CALs.

Document CALs available on server: 45
Document CALs not allocated on server: 0
Document CALs allocated to this document: 0
Document CALs embedded in document: 0
Document CALs assigned to users: 0

I think you already did this, but just to be sure.

You first need to fill in 1 in the box: Number of CALs allocated to this Document. Then hit apply before picking a user, because otherwise it will not work.

Yeah I did that. I also tried to do it with other existing reports and even increasing the number of allocated CALs on reports with document CALs already assigned e.g. trying to chage a 0 to a 1 and a 1 to a 2 and I get the same message.

Appreciate your help with this one.

Ah, I'm very sorry but I can't help you any further. I don't see what the problem is.

I hope hope someone else can help you out.

That's it. It doesn't seem to add up and thyere are still 7 or 8 CALs unaccounted for but I removed one from a different report and was able to assign it to this one.

Thanks very much.

I am having the same issue.  I have 20 doc cals and 0 assigned when I look at all the documents but the general tab shows I have 20 assigned.  How do I find out if these are quarantined?  The odd thing is that I never assigned all 20 so not sure how they could all get quarantined.
