Posts with external links not allowed?

I posted a a question on Monday that referenced an external blog post. I knew the external link would make it go in to the moderation queue, but it still has not shown up. Thinking I may have not actually posted it, I repeated it today and it still has not shown up. Neither post shows up in my activity list (I think posts waiting moderation used to be visible to me).

Are posts with external links allowed? Or am I just being impatient?

Rob, do you see it as "moderated" or don't see it at all?  My posts with external links get moderated too, but takes maybe a few hours to get approved.  Since Monday - no, you are certainly not impatient, rather opposite...

I wasn't seeing them at all. But they both just showed up, so apparently I was being impatient.

Thanks Rob and Michael,

Unfortunately we needed to implement a moderation plugin which places content containing external facing links into the moderation queue- this is 100% due to spam issues. We literally get several spam posts in moderation every couple of days- the same guys that hit us multiple times continue to attack numerous online communities. If we removed the filter- then their posts would get through and we would have the same issues we had last year. Personally I wish someone would put those guys out of business but they continue to disrupt many online communities. Apologies for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience.

Hello John,

Thanks for your post. So- we do have a list of terms that will place content into moderation. There are the obvious

bad words but others associated with different spammers. So items like- Free, payday, loan... etc. If you can message me with the url for your post I can check for you.

Also- we always require moderation for Documents and Ideas to make sure they are repetitive and are in alignment with guidelines, tagging etc.

I will have to do some analysis on this- I wonder if the poster somehow placed moderation on all comments. Every single response shows that its in moderation. Not sure how that would happen- it may be a bug? Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Is it possible to moderate only the link and allow all the other content to be posted?  This would resolve a lot of the frustration I believe.
