Direct Discovery feature is not working on Access Point

Hi All,

I have created 1 application in which I have integrated Direct Discovery feature.

It is working fine in Qlikview Desktop but if I open that application through Access Point then all charts failed..

Can anyone help me out why this is happening? or is this a drawback in this feature?

Assuming that your desktop and server are separate machines, there are three things to check:

  1. Both desktop and server are running 11.2 SR5
  2. Server has access to the database you're trying to use Direct Discovery with
  3. Server has same DSN defined as your desktop

Have you tried to run the desktop application in the server machine?

Thanks for your reply..

My Desktop version is : 11.20.12129.0 SR4

And Server Version : 11.20.12235.0

And can you help me to check DNS?

And according to your comment I should do version upgrade?

Hi Yojas,

Looks like your server is at 11.2 SR5, but your desktop version is still SR4.   You'll want to upgrade to SR5 if possible to take advantage of the recent improvements in Direct Discovery.  Also, the Direct Discovery syntax changed in SR5.

As for the DSN (ODBC Data Source Name) - you can find that in the ODBC control panel - you should have an equivalent entry in the System DSN tab.

Hi Yojas,

Requesting you to first run this application in server and if it is running fine than please check log file of the task which you have created for this application on access point.
