Changing position of column in straight table doesn't work

Hi

Situation

I've created a straight table with several dimensions and expressions. Some of these dimensions and expressions are hidden.

Problem

When I added a new dimension, QV puts the dimension at the end of the table. Every time I want to drag and the the column to change the position, the column stays at the end of the table.

My 'solution'

The only solution is that I recreate the table with al the expressions (+10 expressions) but after a few days the problem is back when I add a dimension

Or I create a expressions that contains only the new dimension and I hide the dimension and put that expression at the top.

Is this a common problem and can it be resolved?

Or did I do something wrong?

It happened in a few other dashboards too.

thx in advance

Hi Again,

I've made video tutorials on FirstSortedValue function. Please check the below link (My blog):

http://qlikshare.com/tag/firstsortedvalue

Meanwhile, I will try to provide you sample expression.

Thanks,

DV

"URL_beschrijving" is at the end and should be after '"S2.URL_ID"

I think you moved the URL beschrijving inside the straight table to the right.

Review the attached test.

The Dimensions are in the right order but I moved dim1 to the right.

Left click on the column header, hold and drag the column to a different position. The blue arrow indicates where the column will be placed after mouse release.

When I add a dimension to that table, it is always inserted at the back.

As mentioned in my first post, dragging and dropping doesn't work.

It changes the order of my expressions in a random order and the dimension is still at the back of the table.

It is not visible in the screen print, what is the next dimension below Doelgroep in your Columns screen print?

first printscreen:

maand - S2.URL_ID -  Doelgroep - bereik - Attractie - Conversie - URL_Beschrijving

I dragged and dropped 'URL_bes...' as column no 3.

result

maand - S2.URL_ID - bereik - Doelgroep - Attractie - Conversie - URL_Beschrijving

2 expressions switched places and URL_Beschrijving is still at the end.

Hi DV

I just watched your videos but I don't see how this could help me.

You use it in expressions but where should I use firstsortedvalue to change the position of columns?

I hope you can provide me with an example

Hi,

It would be great if you can provide a sample app with 10 columns. It's easier to work with your example.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Cheers,

DV

Try this:

Go to Presentation, unhide all hidden columns.

Move the URL_beschrijving to the left.

Hide the columns again.

Reload  if necessary.
