SAP Connector manual

I'm looking for a documentation to connect QlikView to SAP.

the one i found looks a bit older (2 years ago)

would someone be kind enough to attach a recent version.?

And a additive question

how does it last to connect QlikView to SAP and get the data from ?

is it as easy as with other ODBC/OLEDB connections ?

Hi Christian

the connection is not hard to maintain, but you have to know advanced understanding of the SAP application you're working with (ERP modules, BI/BW, CRM etc....)

actually i don't know the SAP environnement neither QV connector, Do you have any idea of how much time i do need to set the connector ?

Hi

In order to set up the connector you need 5 minutes in install it on your QlikView desktop.

However, you require some installation done in SAP - for that you will need a SAP-Basis person who will setup the connector in SAP side (Import Change Requests, create a proper User and setup Authorizations )

All of these actions are detailed in the Manual

After that you will be required to exactly understand what you need to extract and how you're gonna extract it. This means knowing SAP... so I guess you will need an SAP guy for that

Follow-up question regarding SAP connector.

If you are upgrading SAP connector.

Does the upgrade part goes on both system Qlikview & SAP. or just the QlikView server portion gets updated and SAP portion remains unchanged.

You should always install the Transports that come with the new SAP Connector. I think the Connector exchanges some version stuff with SAP.
