User document not updated, although souce document reloads sucessully.

Hi,

I'm new to Qlikview and encountered an issue this morning which I can't seem to find an answer to. One user document is not being updated when the source document is. I don't get any error message. I have tried to re-run the task in the management console for the source document, but still nothing happens, the task runs successfully. Do you have any ideas?

What I understand is that the user document should be updated automatically when the source document is. Is there any way I can update the user document manually? Or how does it work?

Thanks a million for answers!

Best regards,

Hannah

User document will be updated/published  only when task is run or manually done.

Did you enable following property  while creating task ? of course it is not mandatory. It is required if you want data to be  refreshed from QVD while running the task.

Hi Hannah.

How do you know that the source document was "updated"? The fact of the server don't display errors isn't enough to see that.

You shoud open the document in the server (open the qvw in desktop), and see if the data is updated. If not, you may have an script error (look for a "exit script" statement in the hole applications that creates the qvd's that the final app reads)

If you have tried this and the app in the server is uploaded and in a user machine you still see the older data, you can try deleting all cookies and cache of the navigator (explorer, crhome, firefox...)

Hi,

Well acctually I wasn't the one who created the task, however it has worked before and all documetns were updated. Can I check that Preform Reload is enabled now, after the task is created?

Hi,

I open the source document's qvw in the access point and it has been updated after the task runned succesfully. So by deleting all cookies and cache in the user's navigator the user document should be updated, do I have to run the task again?

The user document only use a part of the source data, and if that part is not changed since the last update will the user document be updated anyways or does it only update changes?

Thanks!

Yes by editing task you can see.also check log file to know whether it is refreshed or not.
