Creating a more dynamic Straight Table

I have a general question regarding straight tables. I have created an Excel based data file but want to replicate it in a QVW file to "improve" some of the functionality.

Can I create a more dynamic straight table where the content is derived from other rows and columns of the table?

Thank you to anybody that might be able to get me off the ground on this one.

Keith

Manish,

Thank you for the pointer. Sorry I can't be more specific at the moment. I

have an idea rather than a technical problem.

What I am trying to achieve is the ability to aggregate data within a

straight table based on the relative value of a record in a field (if this

makes sense).

To give some idea I have source data in the form of buy and sell

transactions for a number of stock items. However, the running profit/loss

etc would be dependent upon the selection of a basket of items and the

sequence in which they are purchased and sold.

As I have said I have completed the exercise in Excel which leads me to

believe that it can be done in a QVW file.

The link that you have sent me is good and I shall study the content to see

how it might work for me.

Thank you,

Keith
